Cable Technician

Position Description: ThinkTek is seeking Cable Technicians with an active TS/SCI clearance who have experience installing, deploying and decommissioning systems to support work in the DMV area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
• Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
• Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA's STIG prior to deployment.
• Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
• Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters.
• Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
• Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Top-Secret clearance
• 3+ years of experience in related telecommunications
• 3+ years working as a cable tech within a government environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline
• Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
• Related certifications for Fiber Optic Cable and CAT6 Cable Installation
